Article Summary

The first step in every workflow is a trigger, which is the source of the event that will start the workflow. A trigger event consists of structured data in JSON format that can be accessed in the workflow steps.

There are three types of triggers you can use to initiate a workflow execution:

  • Integration trigger: ingest events from a third-party service to Torq via a webhook.
  • On-demand trigger: user-initiated execution with the option todefine a custom event.
  • Schedule trigger: schedule theworkflow to run at specific times, for example, every Wednesday at 9:00 am.
