Attach relevant events to a case to assist anyone reviewing it in getting the complete picture.
One example is event deduplication. Once a case is created after the processing of an event, duplicate events shouldn't create new cases. You can keep a record of the duplicate events by attaching them to the case that already exists.
View attached events
The events attached to a case are visible in the case Events tab.
- Go to the Cases page.
- Select the case for which you want to view the events and expand it.
- Select the Events tab.
Note
If the case was created by a workflow triggered by an integration event, the trigger event will automatically be attached to the case. The trigger event will be listed at the bottom of the attached events list since newly attached events are added to the top.
Attach an event to a case
Events can only be attached and detached automatically by using the available steps: Attach event to case and Detach event from case.
- Specify the case ID.
- By default, the workflow trigger event will be attached or detached from the case. To specify an event ID, add the Torq event ID optional parameter.
- When attaching an event, you can add the optional Event name parameter to give the event a descriptive name, making the attached events list (see above) easier to navigate.
